Stone Court

Inspired by the contradictions of Mexico City, the client requested a house that would strike a balance between its traditional vernacular forms and modernity. Beginning at the stone-walled entry courtyard, the house juxtaposes spare cubic volumes with expanses of glass and pools of water. A collage of earthiness and lightness, the house is at once austere and inviting. To take full advantage of the dramatic vistas, the program is strategically arranged to allow corridors to carefully curated views.
